the story behind the mix,

on sunday march 22, i woke up, not feeling to great, still a bit sick. so, made some coffee and started listening to some music. found a record John wanted me to remix a song from, played the song, then the next song came on, it was it, it just spoke to me. the mix is for someone special to me, they know who. i had just finished, pushing the song in time, time shrinking the song (was at 132, i pushed it down to 124), cutting the samples, made a simple beat, so i could start to sketch out the track.

Majed calls, tells me Chris is in a total freak out, his little sister had just died, and i need to call him. i continue working, then just shut logic down, forgetting to hit save (lucky i pushed the song in time using another program, it’s usually a lot of work), and called Chris.

a little back ground analog:engine was start by Majed, Chris (bob) and myself.

on monday i was laid-off from my job, which i left the city putting everything on hold for…

the past few weeks have been hell, and this is what we’ve made of it

instruments used,
sample – Gerry Rafferty
bass – Juno 106
synth line 1 – super bass station
synth line 2 – SH-32
drums – linn drum & R70

the song was pushed into time using Live. everything else is just Logic, first time we used no external effects:)
